The first three months of the year have been a whirlwind of activity for the SAFE Bar Network, and we couldn’t be more energized by the momentum we’re seeing in the hospitality industry. Our mission has always been about more than just "training"—it’s about changing the culture of nightlife to ensure every patron and team member has a fun, safe experience.
The numbers from Q1 are a testament to that work. In just three months, we reached:
56 venues completed SAFE Bar Network training.
985 Hospitality Professionals learned valuable de-escalation skills.
612,500 People will have a safer night out this year as a direct result of these efforts.
While the data tells the story of our reach, it’s the feedback from the people on the ground that tells the story of our impact.
Voices from the Bar: Why This Matters
We’ve been listening closely to the feedback from our recent sessions. Facilitators from Santa Ana, California, to Washington D.C. —have been hitting the pavement, and the response from training participants has been incredible. Here is what folks had to say.
"I appreciate that the SAFE Bar Network is emphasizing the importance of appropriate boundaries in the workplace. Not enough restaurants or bars practice such standards."
"Great training! I really liked the use of break-out discussions. Very important subject material, and it gave me tools that I didn’t have before."
"The conversation was well structured and informative without feeling tedious. It was helpful training and encouraged real conversations."
Real Tools for Real Situations
Our goal is to move beyond theory and provide hospitality workers with the "RAD" (as one participant put it!) tools they need to manage complex social dynamics. From defining boundaries to practicing intervention strategies, we are seeing teams leave our sessions feeling more cohesive and prepared.
As we look toward Q2, we are focused on maintaining this pace. Every venue that joins the SAFE Bar Network is a signal to the community that safety isn’t just an afterthought—it’s a core value of the hospitality experience.

Together, we can keep this place safe. Cheers to a massive Q1 and an even bigger season ahead!
