Loni Stouffer
SAFE Bar Trainer
Port Clinton, Ohio
Loni joined the SAFE Bar Network in 2023 as a SAFE Bar Trainer. Loni enjoys the sense of connection and community that naturally forms during the SAFE Bar sessions. It is rewarding to see the staff work together and feel empowered to step in with practical tools and strategies when they see a situation that doesn’t feel right. Plus, it’s fun to get to know our local businesses better and support them.
She feels the most joy when she is able to give a second training to a venue. It is really great to hear about the situations where staff members stepped in and made a difference using the tools they learned previously. It’s one thing to talk to the team about how they might respond to situations during training, but hearing that they’ve put those skills to good use is really rewarding.
Loni is more proud of the fact that she is currently writing her dissertation. She says it is really easy to get caught up in thinking about all of the work she has left to finish it but she is currently doing something that she never thought she would if you had asked her a few years ago. It is hard work and the biggest thing she has ever written. She is proud of the progress that she has made so far and is excited about the work she has yet to do.
Her happy place, even though it might sound basic, is curled up with a cat on her lap. If she is cozy, she is happy. Loni’s favorite drink for a fun night out is a Negroni.
